Finally I'm writing something here. ( Don't push me again, I'm not the last)
My name is Guo Feng, come from China. I'm 29 years old now. An old man with plenty of stories. If any young and beautiful lady is really interested in, we can contact with e-mail. :)
About my application, I knew IMIM very late from an online forum, 4 month before the deadline.
However, I am a really honest man, I tried to fulfill all the requirements. Even today, I'm not clear about which conditions does the committee consider the most, but what I know is, during the application period, I talked with some other Chinese candidates, and all of GPA, IBT and GMAT are not in the top level. So I would like to attribute my success to my educational and career background. As you know from the website of IMIM, this program prefers the candidate who has a technological or engineering background and has several years work experience. While I have a bachlor degree in nuclear engineering (maybe too technical) and nearly 5 year work experience in manufacturing companies. And I successfully combined my former experience with my purpose of joining this program in my motivation letter, which I think it's very important. ( You can contact me to have a look, just 5 euros).
Anyway, if somebody wants to get more information, please don't hesitate to contact me. Hope all of you can make it.
Best regards
Feng

Hi Feng, my name is Kaell, come from Brazil and could be considered also an old guy, just like you wrote! Well, Im 27 years old, married, have majored in Mechanical Engineering and since I graduated (2005) I have been working in multinational companies in Brazil and Germany.
I wish I had found this blog before! Completing a master course has been my main objective since I first read the IMIM curriculum, 3 months ago (little late, right?). So, in december I took the GMAT and TOEFL iBT and got 660, and 102. I must say I haven't figured out what plays more important role: having relevant work experience or outstanding academic achievements. Im definetely not the second type (my GPA was not higher than 76%).
I dont know if I have a competitive profile but I am sure that being accepted to IMIM would be a dream coming true. To be honest, I think the competition seems to be really keen owing to the large pool of highly qualified applicants. Anyway, I hope I can join you guys and cannot wait to get there!!!
All the best,
Sorry, Niko, I was busy in preparing the exams last month, so didn't check this blog. What I can say is that I have the same GMAT score and GPA with you, and my IBT is much lower than yours. So don't need to worry about these. I think you have already submitted your application. So forget it, the only thing you can do is keeping your mobile phone on and check your email every day. Good luck, hope to see you.
Hi Feng, thanks for your post! I guess you really have little time while preparing for final exams...so, when things calm down could you please write about post-IMIM expectations? I'm very keen to know about the average employment rate, salary increase, type of industry and if the overseas graduates generally return to their home countries or stay in Europe. I believe every prospective student ask him or herself about these questions...but please, take your time...I know you guys are now packing everything to the next round, in Como. Thanks again for your helpful infos and tips...
Hi,Niko. Yes, I'm busy in preparing the Italian semester. (In fact I just came back from the Venice carnival, it was awesome.)
About the post-IMIM expectation, to be honest, I haven't thought about it a lot. Anyway, I got some information from one former IMIM student's comment. I'm sorry it's in Chinese. So I tried to translate some sentences for you. He is in the 3rd edition and graduated in 2008. There are 30 people in his class, 23 of them found a job in Europe. Mainly in Italy, Spain, France and UK. And all in tranditional industry, no consulting, IB, VC etc. About the salary, he said if you already have several years work experience, it could be higher. Otherwise, it's almost the same with the local graduated students. And if you want to apply a PHD program, there is not a lot of help of IMIM experience. Anyway, under the crisis, god knows what will happen in next year.
For my personal idea, the european commission better want us to work between EU and our native countries, not work in europe. Anyway, I think this is ok, the knowledge of native language and culture is our advantage, why don't we utilize it?
Hope my information will be helpful.
By the way,for the Chinese student's comment, it is here: http://bbs.topway.org/TopicOther.asp?t=5&BoardID=86&id=160073
If you have other friends who know Chinese, it will be much better if they can translate for you.
Hi Feng, thank you a lot! The infos are very helpful. I have no chinese friend to translate the website but your post is pretty good! Thanks for sharing your personal view...
I wish you a nice trip to Como!
