I am a student from India and have joined the latest edition of IMIM in September 2008. I have completed my five year Integrated Master’s Program at the Indian Institute of Technology,
While planning for higher education I was looking for a course which provided a chance to work with people from all around the globe. With this perspective I started searching for different courses in Europe and finally applied to Erasmus Mundus courses and Grande Ecole in France. After being admitted to different course I chose IMIM as it was my first priority when applying, a decent scholarship provided by EU is definitely a huge plus point. Although there was not much information available online at that time regarding the course I decided to join this and I am happy I made the right decision.
For me IMIM has been a really pleasant experience with fun and studies balanced skillfully. The professors are excellent; colleagues are fun and Madrid ROCKS!!! Before coming to Madrid I was expecting a mix of people from different countries around the globe and that is exactly what we have got in this batch of IMIM. The discussions let them be on any topic are interesting with different views about an issue from Europe, Asia, Africa and America. Sometimes it might cause a paradigm shift about an issue about which previously you have been so sure about.
All of us who are currently in MADRID with IMIM have enjoyed the classes to the fullest. The classes are interactive; with professors keen to make you understand the concepts. The classes consist of practical exercises and not mere theory. The classes are taught with case basis but not just standard cases which are there in HBR or cases mentioned in the books these also include the experiences of the Professors which make it more interesting. Saying that I don’t think I need to comment on the professors who teach us, all I can say is it will be hard to find such a ‘perfect marketing mix to deliver the high rates of return absolutely risk free and with minimal investment’.
About the fun part, You need to be here to witness it, its just amazing how you can find time to go around have fun, help each other in group assignments and the staff at the university make enough efforts to teach you Spanish and make your stay pleasant by assisting you in everything you need. Icing on the cake are the trips organized by the university to places around which make you understand the culture and enjoy the beautiful Spain.

I faced a few difficulties
I tried filing my application online on 6th Jan but I could not print the application form and got a message stating that the deadline is over. As the deadline was on 15th Jan, I have sent the paper based form to Spain. I tried in vain to reach the university at the given contact number and through email id given in the webpage www.imim.polimi.it
Kindly help me know the status of my application.

We will try to find it out in the office about your application arrival and will inform you.
I asked at the office they told me that they cannot check and confirm for each application. But they also said its not a problem if you send either the paper application or the print out of the online application it doesnt make a difference. You will get a mail if you are confirmed in the selection saying if you are in the waiting list or main list, for the scholarship. If you had sent it by dhl or fedex you can check if online if its delivered or not dont worry about your application

Regarding the application process, on wednesday I noticed that my application status on the online profile changed to "admitted" (three weeks ago it was "applying"). I was kind of happy and confused with such a good news! What a fast decision, I thought. Anyway, I sent the admission office an e-mail asking about the real status, since the official result is to be published only in May; but still have no answer. Actually, I haven't got any confirmation saying that my application has been received and processed. So, yesterday I checked again the application status and it has changed again - unfortunately :-( -It now says that the result will be informed only after European Commission final decision, until the end of May. So, I think I have to wait a little bit!
Prithvi, do you have any idea about how many candidates have applied to the 2009/10 Edition? And the scholarships ratio?

I haven't heard anything from the Admission Office nor from the European Commission by e-mail. As a matter of fact what I have so far is this message in my online profile (http://www.applyimim.com/profile.php): "The 2009-2011 IMIM Erasmus Mundus admission process is open until 28-Feb-2009. However, until the end of May we cannot confirm you the final resolution". (Do you have the same message?!)
Due to this, I'm not sure if we're going to have news by next week.
I must say that the hardest part about applying is the process of waiting. I find myself constantly searching forums and blogs such as this one in order to learn more about the applicants and students profile (country of origin, age, gender, average GPA, gmat and toefl scores, working experience, etc). Overall, this admissions statistics would be important to assess chances for acceptance and also to have a better idea about the program composition. This blog is the best source I have found so far! But I do miss the official statistics, just like those from Business Schools.
Anyway, I can't wait to receive the final result, although I'm not that optimistic (my application number is 1382, which makes the competition quite tough).
So, tell us a little more about you and your expectations...
Niko, glad to hear from you. i'm in the exactly same situation as you are. i keep checking and searching for anything related to IMIM keyword in google, even i 've got to go to chinese forum although i'm not a chinese and couldn't understand a single chinese word. the message you saw is the general message that all the applicants have. do this way. give me your email address if you don't mind (I just have 1 email add and don't want to public it hear, if you have any backup email add and are willing to provide )and we'll talk abt this more personally. i doubt they'll inform us next week.

I'm from India and I've been admitted to the IMIM progam but without the EM schol. I'd like to know exactly what you guys feel about the course, the job prospects after that, and if it's really worth financing for it myself. (I have nearly 1 year work ex. and still am working for an Oilfield services company) My email is some86where@gmail.com. Dear all,
Please do not join this program because you would like to gain a real world insight into industrial management. In fact this is really a low level engineering program with little benefits apart from; low workload, a lot of travel time, potential scholarship opportunity. also i highly recommend that applicants with more than 2yrs of work experience do NOt apply to this programs as it is more suited for very young people with little experience and want to chill out.
Hey guys i am in the main list for the IMIM Erasmus mundus scholarship....should i start to celebrate?? Usually the EU confirms the main list???Are there any chances to pass from the main to the reserve list??? thanks
I am confused about one thing. I applied online as European student and uploaded all the required doccuments online. Was it necessary to send hard copies of all the doccuments?
